7-Day Family Itinerary: Surf, Relax & Explore Santa Teresa Beach

Santa Teresa is that place I always go back, but this time, it wasn’t just about me—it was about experiencing this paradise with my family. With two adventurous kids (8 and 10) who are as surf-obsessed as my partner and me are. We planned a trip that balanced fun, relaxation, and unforgettable moments. If you’re looking for a stress-free way to enjoy Santa Teresa with teenagers, this itinerary is feverything

Itinerary

Landing in San José, we rented a car right at the airport, an absolute must if you want the flexibility to explore. We had pre-booked our ferry tickets in advance—a crucial tip to avoid long waits—and within a few hours, we were cruising towards Santa Teresa.

My best way to start the day? At 6:30 AM Mysore-style yoga session at home while the kids sleep in.

This was hands-down the most magical day of the trip.

After three days of adventure, we slowed things down a little.
